Modern Contemporary Design

Untitled 13 by Jan De Vliegher

Jan De Vliegher’s brightly hued fish cut through dark, watery depths like a visual exclamation. The artist captures the movement as the fish just slip out of our grasp. De Vliegher is another artist who paints in one sitting, an array of paintbrushes and pre-mixed paints before him, using the wet-on-wet technique. The results are vivid paintings that shimmer with energy and hint at an abstract character.

Artist: Jan De Vliegher

New works by Jan de Vliegher are on exhibition at Mike Weiss Gallery in New York through January 18, 2014.
