Totem Lamp by Alexandre Dubreuil
A massive column of concrete is ringed with light in Alexandre Dubreuil’s Totem.
Details: A study in volumes and materials, Totem has two distinct parts, a column of concrete with two diameters that allows for the placement of a donut-shaped lighting element on the upper half.
“Towards a quest of fundamental, the design strictly focuses on the way volumes and materials are associated.” says the Paris-based designer.
“The lamp uses the material richness to overtake the function and appears as an abstract sculpture. The peripheral lighting serves the function and the object itself.”
