The Hills Are Alive In My Living Room

Carres de jardin_DEC 03.jpgFrench designer Severine Szymanski has created a park with hills on a scale that fits in a home. The modular “Carrés de jardin”, or garden squares, are made of white ceramic 45cm X 45cm with holes for plants. The containers are lined and equipped with a Gardena stainless steel irrigation system. There are two flat models, 3cm and 12cm high, as well as an undulated model that can be interconnected to create the hills and valleys. Add some evergreen plants and the hills come alive. Unfortunately, les carrés are a prototype in search of a manufacturer.
