Teahead Scraps by Ric Ocasek

Who knew Ric Ocasek was a visual artist? Former front man for the Cars (now we can’t get Let’s Go out of our fool heads), Ocasek has a body of artwork that spans the last thirty years. These works on paper, within a collection entitled Teahead Scraps, were never intended for public view, so the abstractions are of course unselfconscious and free. Patterns made with coloured pencils, markers and pens pop, and there is a collage feel to the movement. Eye-candy-O.

Artist: Ric Ocasek

Teahead Scraps runs through April 25, 2010 at Cinders Gallery in Brooklyn.
