Sakura Night Bloom by eepmon

eepmon_sakura_lead.jpg

These days eepmon (also known as Eric Sze-Lang Chan) spends his time between Ottawa and New York, with a few forays eastward, too. This influence is quite evident in his latest digital prints, such as Sakura Night Bloom (detail shown above – loving that rich, yet subtle, purple), all rich in colour and depth. For this series, eepmon draws from traditional symbols such as the cherry blossom, the crane and the enso, a sign associated with Zen that represents enlightenment, strength, elegance and universality. The work is, indeed, bold without being overwhelming.
