Patchworked in Canada Public Project by Dear Human

Urban treasure hunt! Patchworked in Canada Public Project by Dear Human encourages active appreciation of urban neighborhoods by dispersing 1200 upgraded and collectible vintage tiles through Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver, finders, keepers.

Details: Tiles were selected from the “lifetime collection of Mr. Cortiaso; hundreds of thousands of discontinued tiles from the ceramics factories of Portugal,” shipped to Canada, cleaned up, many re-fired with 24K gold decals, IDed with web address and 800 number, backed with magnets, exhibited at the Toronto Design Offsite Festival (see below), and now are being dispersed in areas of each city, January 27 to February 8, 2014. Funded by Canada Council for the Arts.

Designers: “Dear Human is the creative studio of ceramic, architect, sculpture, design duo Jasna Sokolovic and Noel O’Connell,” headquartered in Vancouver, Canada.
