Nature / Data by Antonio Pio Saracino

Triumphal arches representing Italian emigration to North and South America by designer and architect Antonio Pio Saracino are made from layers of hard foam, each one referencing bar charts of data from a two hundred-year span (1810-2010). In addition to this installation of two arches at Washington’s Industry Gallery, there are several chair designs by Saracino, including a new one, Molecular, a baroque-style steel chair covered in wool shaped like molecules.
