Details: The legs of the Lera Moiseeva-designed Ray chair function like the roots of a tree “that give life to the stable and firm seat”. Spreading out from the centre of the seat, Ray’s five legs provide a solid and stable footing for the chair.
Says the designer, “The higher a stem of a plant reaches to the light, the deeper its roots grow into the ground. The nature of this chair works according to the same principle; the legs of the chair work as roots, that give life to the stable and firm seat.”
Materials: Ray chair is made from tubular steel and can be used indoor and outdoor.
Ray was presented a the The Naturalist show, which features the works of various Russian designers, during Stockholm Design Week 2016. Adds Moiseeva, “All the objects in the show attempt to capture nature into an artifact.”
