The whole of the moon: In the Moon by Fanette Mellier illustrates lunar phases day by day, in a lavishly printed volume (using eight Pantone colours; the hardcover is embossed metallic blue) that floats between “technical constraints, experimental science, and pure poetry.”
November 2013, the book’s publication month (by Ãditions du livre), is represented.
The work was inspired by Mellier’s In the moon (2010) exhibit at the Cultural Center for Children of Reims, and realized with the support of France’s Ministry of Culture and Communication.
Mellier is a Paris-based graphic artist specializing in typography and layout.
