Hotel O by Ora Ito

The rooms in French designer-architect Ora Ito’s Hotel O are a tribute to Stanley Kubrick’s iconic space ship Discovery One in the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Hotel O’s 29 bedrooms have few right angles and explore the chromatic spectrum – each floor hosts four or five rooms in the same colour group. “Yet each one is painted and upholstered in its own unique shade, thus participating in the creation of a graded path that runs throughout the building.”

The hotel is a short walk from the Louvre and Tuileries Gardens. The Seine River and historical Ile de la Cite with the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral are a 10-minute walk away.
