Gravity Candelabra by Jolan van der Wiel

gravity_candelabra_jolan_van_der_wiel_525.jpg From Jolan van der Wiel, a candle holder made with magnetism.

The Candelabra is made using plastic particles with metal cores, developed especially for the purpose, and a strong magnetic field. “In a matter of minutes, the arms of the candle holder literally grow under the attraction of the magnets.”

“Balls of spikes and needles form along the lines of the field force, giving the piece its freakish and mysterious feeling, a feeling reinforced by the choice of the black colour.” It’s the same process van der Wiel uses to make his Gravity Stool.
