As Martinez says in his introduction, “…graffiti art is a call-and-response culture. It was the first blog, the first social network, high tech with no tech.” Martinez discusses supplies for working on paper and walls, as well as the various techniques that produce different effects. The step-by-step instructions for a couple of projects make it very tempting to get out there with a spray can, but Martinez does encourage practice first. Great visuals, clear instructions and a three-page glossary make this a terrific reference guide to a very honest art form.
