Urban Reef by Jason Decaires Taylor
by Ted Savage / September 24, 2012
From the first name in underwater sculpture, Urban Reef by Jason Decaires Taylor is a series of sea creature refuges, designed with the aide of a marine biologist to provide ideal shelter for various reef inhabitants, while taking the familiar form of suburban homes from the Western world.

The collection resides among some 450 sculptures in the rather vast MUSA (Museo Subaquatico de Arte) off the coast of Cancun, Mexico. Taylor created the world's first underwater sculpture park, now listed as one of the Top 25 Wonders of the World by National Geographic, near Grenada in the West Indies, in 2006. Via designboom.
