House in Musashisakai by Upsetters Architects
by Ted Savage / September 25, 2011
Via @ArchDaily, a single-family home in a suburb of Tokyo, Japan, is designed to accommodate evolving family dynamics and spatial needs as the couple's young daughter grows up.

"To achieve an easy change of the uses, a mass of space for the daughter was inserted into a simple wooden two-storied house."

"The part for the daughter has a mezzanine room, which can be accessed from the first floor and used by the couple for working. The daughter, who has just entered the elementary school, can go up to the room by using the desk and bookshelves." More at Upsetters Architects. Photos: courtesy of Upsetters Architects.
