The Hill Plain House by Wolveridge Architects
by Ted Savage / July 25, 2011
Via @archdaily, a modern farm-style home in Victoria, Australia, "an attempt to create an 'Australianess' with a rugged exterior, characterized by a palette of natural materials, a sense of craftsmanship and childhood reminder of growing up in the 70's."

It's offgrid, powered by a 2kw solar/battery system with remotely located subground backup generator. Woodfired hydronic heating with solar boost is shared with domestic hot water. The building is highly insulated and all rooms cross ventilate naturally. "What was conceived as a bachelor pad is now a family home, a few changes on the way." More at Wolveridge Architects.
