Clearing Study #14 by Molly Briggs

It was the winter-wearing trees that drew me; the red not hot enough to shake off the cold of a steel grey day. New work by Molly Briggs takes inspiration from the Midwest landscape: prairie rivers, tree litter and tar patches on asphalt roads. But Briggs’ renditions of nature in the abstract also have an Eastern flavour about them, evoking delicate twigs and grasses amongst the inky smudges. Delicious colour composition in Clearing #5 (after the jump).
