While Brooklyn Makers: Food, Design, Craft, and Other Scenes from the Tactile Life by Jennifer Causey isn’t strictly about art, it is certainly a tome about the act of making. It is difficult to avoid getting motivated by this look at a group of young creatives who are living out their passions in a supportive community. The pretty pictures only make it look easy at first glance; it is impossible to deny the effort that must go into every step of the maker’s journey. Causey presents short interviews with the makers and snaps them in their natural environments: an array of studios, workshops and storefronts throughout Brooklyn. Be inspired.
