Radioactive Control by Luzinterruptus
by sabine7 / August 31, 2011

In a departure from the more mysterious lighting interventions that take place throughout the streets of Madrid, Luzinterrruptus created an army of 100 illuminated radioactive figures garden in hazmat suits. The scarecrows (for that is what they really were) were employed to "invite reflection regarding the use and abuse of nuclear energy, cheap in economic terms, but which can cause grave secondary effects for the environment and health, forever irreversible." The sheer life-sized nature of this installation, created for Hamburg's Dockville Festival, makes for eerie social commentary.
