Details: Created by, and in the likeness of Swedish designer Gabriel Särkijärvi, the backrest of the chair employs a raster technique that together with a contrasting background forms an illusion of a greyscale picture.

"This is an attempt to design a chair as a personal artefact connected to family and identity." says the designer.

"Lots of work was done to find the balance between the size and the right amount of visibility of the illusion, balancing the too obvious and the too hard to detect."

To make the rasters sufficiently detailed MDF-board templates were cut out using a laser cutter. The templates were then used to mill out the final rasters in birch wood.
