Details: Long time photographer, Paris-based Lansom is now also a "handcrafted decoration designer". With Sputnik, inspired by the first Russian satellite sent into space, the lamps are made of painted wood and high quality cotton or wool threads which are strung between the wood cutouts.

"Sputnik lamps are inspired by the retro-futuristic spirit of those ships, coming straight out of science fiction books, and more generally the graphical 1960s and 1970s aesthetics." says Lansom.

"Each one of them is unique, a piece of art, and the result of a meticulous and passionate
work."

Designer: Julie Lansom is a versatile artist, who swings between her camera and her design studio. "The importance of colours, a passion for materials, the authenticity of
her design and a hint of nostalgia are the key elements of her work."
