MOCO'11: Barely looks sustainable
by Harry / January 1, 2012

This kitchen countertop traveled well in June, carried by Twitter and Facebook to designers and design aficionados who no doubt were surprised, as we were, that it was made from recycled plastic bottles.

Sustainability is wending its way through all the parts of design, from ideation, where designers have been thinking about sustainability from the very beginning, all the way to fabrication and ERP (what saves the planet is good for the bottom line). This year sustainability hit a stride, the "oh really, that's recycled?" stride. It's a good place to be, when you can't tell the difference, when all that matters is the form and function.

Our month-by-month review of 2011's notable objects & architecture continues, for June join us on Twitter and Facebook where we'll be showing more of yours, and our, June 2011 favorites until tomorrow.
