Tokyo Design Week 2007 - Design Tide: Colour
by sabine7 / November 5, 2007

Tokyo Design Week ran from Oct.31 through Nov. 4 and our correspondent Jean Snow started his explorations at Design Tide. The main theme this year was Play and this was covered by designers participating in the various events and sections of Design Tide, including Tide Think, Tide Exhibition, Tide Super Market, Tide Project and Tide Extension. Some colourful exhibitors were South Africa’s Heath Nash, Sweden’s We Are Going Underground, and Emma Woffenden and Tord Boontje. The amazing display of the Tu-Tu R.T.D flower treatments by Suntory Flower was particularly impressive, while Jurgen Bey’s pieces were quite installation-like. Niels van Eijk & Miriam van der Lubbe, however, displayed the most colourful handbags that probably provoke the most colourful commentary.
