Mount Fuji Architects Studio's Sakura house, "I attempted to generate a quality living environment by placing two large, swirled belt-shaped surfaces on the premises" at noticias arquitectura.

This week's MoCo picks.

+ (Green) House in the Hamptons at TreeHugger, "Designed by architect Edvin Karl Stromsten to accent a secluded stretch of forest he already owned, the house was light, geometric, and nonthreatening; definitely within the realm of 'friendly modernism' that characterizes many new houses built in summer colonies. The green engineering that informed much of the design, and the sponsorship it attracted, was far from standard however.".

+ Brick: the exhibition at DESIGNWS.COM, "... art inspired by brick as well as new, commercial designs suitable for further development within the brick industry.".

+ Dwell Editor-in-Chief Sam Grawe and designers Carlos Salgado of Scrapile, Tejo Remy of Droog fame, and Matt Gagnon discuss reclaiming design and "explore what it means to recycle, reduce and reuse within the context of design." at Inhabitat.

+ Ernest Goh and Daniel Pillai's Beam night-light, "a lamp that contains medium format film. When you switch on the light, your artwork appears.". Via Apartment Therapy.

+ FRONT Design on VernissageTV, designer "Anna Lindgren shows us some works, especially the "Magic Collection" (in the Magic collection, design pieces are made to make other objects disappear, a lamp that levitates, a chair balances on one leg and a chest of drawers separates and floats away) and tells us more about Front.

+ Smart electrical accessories by Gilles Belley, "The objects propose an alternative relationship to power control.". Via The David Report.

+ Plank's Myto cantilever chair by Konstantin Grcic at Yanko Design.

+ Plustic Minustic: Synthetic Frictions at PingMag, where Koji Takenaka and Takahide Ishii "mingle the fields of architecture, product and graphic design in a quite playful way.".
