About Time
by / April 14, 2006

The About Time clock tells the time by slowly rolling clockwise on a table. You tell the time by reading the part of the circle that touches the table top. There are no numerals, you have to read the different parts of the continuous "Time-Sentence" on the clock face. Per the designers, Buro Vormkrijgers, "It’s a reaction on the tendency to plan our daily lives to the minute, because this clock only tells you the hours, so you are forced to answer the question “what time is it?” with the phrase 'it’s about… o’clock'. The slow continuous motion, and the continuous sentence force you to relax a bit when looking for the time.". Thanks Sander & Dave!
