Made for China
by sabine7 / October 4, 2005

The OPOS designers in Milan were asked to come up with some designs in response to the question, “What would happen if we imagined that the XXI century was the Chinese century?” Their projects reflect the absorption of Chinese culture or a Western way of life under Chinese domination. Adapting chopsticks and cutlery was a recurring theme, adequate food intake being primordial to the survival of any culture. Twist and Taste is a three-pronged version for a more secure grip, and the wishbone-shaped B-Side is a handy fork/chopstick in one. Posate cutlery houses the chopsticks in addition to providing a convenient resting spot for them. And for eating on the run, there is the handy roll of disposable chopsticks in the China Pak. SM
