Last year, Bernardaud, one of Franceâs most prestigious (and traditional) fine porcelain makers teamed up with 5.5 Designers for a project titled Workers- Designers. On show last week, and destined for NYC this weekend, an entirely new porcelain collection created by introducing ââ¬Åcreative disturbancesââ¬Â in the manufacturing process. The artisans were asked to change the way they approached their work. Guided by the designers, floral designs once meant for the outside of a sauciere found their way inside, and elsewhere traditional ornate designs were subtly replaced by numerical digits. The result is a tableware collection with the allure of fine porcelain, but with a distinctly modern aesthetic.
