Wiedinghof Football Field by Christoph Schindler

“Nine months ago, I attended a workshop of the design collective Postfossil in Aarau. At the start, participants were asked to outline a hypothetical ‘critical intervention’ in their environment.

At Zürich Wiedinghof, where I live with my family, there is an inviting meadow with sign saying: ‘The facilities are recommended to protect the public – playing football forbidden – Check nearest football field under official publications’. I suggested to make the contrast between the meadow and the sign with a temporary line marking something striking. ‘One day I do it,’ I promised to the other participants.

Nine months later, I could keep my word.” 130608_fussballwiese_02
