Viù Chair by Simone Spalvieri and Valentina Del Ciotto

“The name of our new project is Viù and it’s a simple, easy to make and high-grade plywood chair. This prototype is the result of a research on how it’s possible to create an interesting chair with minimum investments. A plywood sheet skillfully worked to create an iconic and innovative chair that combines lightness and stability, and its delicate and fragile aspect hides an unespected solidity. A focal point of the chair is the bar that we placed at the base of the backrest, that is structural and aesthetically characterizing at the same time. We presented this project during Salone del Mobile, at the new Fuorisalone Sarpi Bridge (via Paolo Sarpi 6), a point of fusion between Orient and Occident, where we were invited as guests for our collaboration with asian companies.” Photos: Federico Villa.
