“A set of distorted objects that explores phenomena due to visual perception. Perspective aims to provide a mimesis of reality resorting to expedients and devices, represents things as they are seen by the eye, not as they really are. Our eye bends the truth, lies to us finding the intersection of two parallel straight lines. Today we are unconscious of this dysfunction, our mind has been trained in perspective perception through 3d representation and photography. This eye trick required several years of studies and researches to Renaissance artists, the first to codify experiences and intuitions about representation of depth.
In Perspectiva distortion becomes concrete, itâs not just a phenomenon due to visual perception. The object unveils the eye trick held on itself. During next Milan Design Week, Alhambretto will present the first two pieces of Perspectiva collection: a tray and a centerpiece, respectively the perspective distortion of a rectangle and an hexagon. The collection places side by side the clearness of the nickel-plated brass surfaces and the texture of the ash wood black-dyed.”
