Spray Architecture’s Le Plongeoir (diving board in French) wants passersby to spray a while.
Details: The simple 14 sqm wood structure is located in the French countryside. “The miniature piloti house ascends upwards as the walls appear to fall away; a semi-transparent façade welcomes sunshine inside.” say the architects, Spray Architecture. The stilts are intended to limit the environmental impact, creating a resemblance to piloti fishing houses whilst simultaneously immersing visitors in nature.
“Passersby are encouraged to adapt and contribute to the space, using ‘graffitecture’ to transform the appearance each day. Selected artists – including Antistatik, THTF and INjustice – were invited to add their marks to the piece. Within days the exterior was transformed with angular, frenetic dashes of colour that invite visitors inwards and upwards.”
