Hatch and Disintegrating Car Photo Series

Exploding car photos? Absolutely! Hatch and Disintegrating are two series of prints by Swiss artist/photographer Fabian Oefner that capture hot vintage sportscars in surreal forms of motion. Hatch shows a (miniature) Ferrari 250 GTO (1962)  busting out of its egg-like gypsum shell (an illusion created by smashing fragile castings into the model car). Disintegrating is an exploded view—Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé (1954), Jaguar E-Type (1961), Ferrari 330 P4 (1967)—with the millions of individual parts (well, hundreds, at least) separated and floating in the air. Each series of photos is limited to 25, available through the MB&F M.A.D.Gallery in Geneva. 1900 CHF (about $2100). hatch_and_disintegrating_car_photo_series_02
