From YMCA Canada:
Two furniture designers and craftsmen – twin brothers Lars and Jason Dressler of Brothers Dressler – have crafted this beautiful and highly-unusual table for Canada’s YMCA.
Close to 100 significant artifacts donated by every YMCA association in Canada were used to craft a unique table that tells the YMCA’s story, nationwide. This boardroom table – made entirely of artifacts donated by all 53 YMCA associations – was recently completed and has a permanent home at YMCA Canada’s head office in Toronto.
The YMCA has deep historic roots in Canada – already a movement before Confederation in 1867. Treasures built into this table include a YMCA membership card from 1851. Other artifacts include canoe paddles, lumber from historic buildings, pins, badges, trophies and even a First World War shell casing.
