Angular Chair by S-AR

“Angular is the second object of a series of wooden pieces of furniture designed by Mexico based architectural design studio S-AR. The object’s origin comes from the sequence of the junction of 4 pine tables where one of them has been moved in angle to create both the backrest and main support of the chair breaking a primitive conceptual rectangle originally formed by the 4 tables. By a ‘piece to piece’ system used to merge similar subsequent structures, the addition of tables forms a suitable surface for sitting and rest the back, forming a chair. A process of deep sanding on the surface of the tables dramatizes the wood’s texture in the object achieving a touch experience for the users.” Photos: Ana Cecilia Garza Villarreal.
