At his San Francisco studio, painter Raymond Difley constructs mixed-media painted panels that are a sort of meditation on the rectangle. His bold and colorful work is spare and in some cases deceptively simple, and a good complement for the lines and 90 degree angles of the modern / contemporary home.
Difley has recently been part of Elizabeth Starr's SOMA Holiday Exhibition group show at the Off Market Gallery, as well as a holiday show at Propeller in Hayes Valley. In April and May his work will be part of two separate shows at Art Gotham in Manhattan, and he'll have a show with Stuart Sheldon at San Francisco's Ligne Roset in September 2005.
