Logue Studio Design is an award-winning San Francisco design firm that specializes in contemporary residential, commercial and product design. Along with his studies in architecture at Columbia University in New York, principal Michael F.D. Logue studied design at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark as well as completing a yearlong program in Traditional Japanese Architecture at Kyoto University. That teaching, and the influence of those respective cultures, has inspired much of the studio’s work, including projects for Herman Miller, Ligne Roset and the DeYoung Art Center for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. One recent residential project, The Noe Valley Residence (right), creates a design vocabulary that links separate parts of the home using both Asian inspired and contemporary languages. Copper-clad cylindrical bays are connected by a series of bridges and rooftop terraces positioned to capture the home’s striking panoramic vistas. In addition the interior color scheme evolved from the rich and vibrant colors seen in traditional Pan Pacific design while referencing the natural environment.
Other noteworthy Logue Studio projects include the Los Gatos Residence and a dentist's office inspired by the art of Mark Rothko. See both after the jump.
