
Safe to say South Africa is not too widely known for fine whiskey, yet SA’s Three Ships 5-year Premium Select Whiskey, already a multiple international award winner, is currently no less than the World’s Best Blended Whiskey, according to Whiskey Magazine‘s World Whiskies Awards 2012. Surprise! It’s a blend of Scottish and South African grain and malt whiskies, aged for a minimum of five years, described by Three Ships as slightly sweet, but with full peaty character, and a long, full and warm finish.
