The Scissor by Charge Bikes is described as “indestructible, simple and clean.” New for 2012, this fixed-gear 29″  ride is an upgraded replacement for Charge’s fixie cult favorite, the Plug, designed with input by fixed-gear innovators Tom Lamarche and Ted James “to withstand levels of abuse that would otherwise leave a bike in pieces.” Question is, if you’re not a bike messenger, extreme urban athlete, or 16-year-old kid, is brake-less, single-gear, fixed-pedal bike desire just a trendy, potentially skull-shatttering dream?
