Samsung hits 2012 with fully loaded new monitors that further close the gaps between mobile and desktop, and pro and consumer,with the new-for-2012 Samsung Series 9 / Series 7 Monitors. The Series 7 comes in two versions. Series 7 HDTV (above) with built-in TV tuner and speakers, features picture-in-picture (PiP), and is Android Mobile High Definition Link (MHL) enabled, allowing easy connection and control for smartphones and tablets. There is also WiDi for wireless audio/video streaing from a PC, and HDMI and VGA inputs. The Series 7 Smart Station also offers MHL, along with auto wireless detection that locates other wireless devices within a 5-foot radius, and Mobile Control hooks up smartphone or tablet and allow seamless switching between desktop/laptop and mobile. Both Series 7 are availble in 24- and 27-inch versions. Then there’s the top shelf Series 9 (below), Samsung’s best in quality, a 27-incher with three core heavy-hitter technologies for pro-grade image display. Natural Color Expert offers over a billion colors and hardware callibration that is hand-tuned for each monitor before leaving the factory. Plane Line Switching (PLS) panel tech offers incredibly wide viewing angles. And quad high-definition (QHD) resolution (2560 x 1440) gives the 9 four times higher resolution than previous conventional HD monitors.
