Intriguing isn’t generally a camping gear word, but we think it applies to the Prairie Pan & Campfire set, shown in action above, sheep and kettle not included. The Prairie Pan is a steel grill with pan hardware, an a slip-on leather handle grip that can be removed for cleaning. It sits well on a fire ringed with stones (bottom): cook on it directly as a grill-pan, or use it as a convenient surface for pots. The Praire Campfire is a Corten steel fire-holder with a beautiful rust-like patina, that is form-fitted for logs; when the fire has burned down to coals, it is the perfect heat source for the Prairie Pan. This is the work of Dutch firm Maandag meubels, who say they design “products that make you smile.” We agree.
