The newest entry in the MR fine sipping reserve, Peligroso Anejo Tequila is a highlands 100% Blue Weber agave, brick-oven steamed, double-distilled, 12-18 month white oak barrel-aged, estate-bottled, upper shelf tequila. The standout black satin bottles are hand-corked and numbered to ensure estate authenticity. The sipping quality is, of course, on a par with, yes, fine cognacs and single malts—the award winning contents may deliver solid oak notes, a hint of sweet caramel flavor and a firm pepper kick…but you will have to decide for yourself! (For the lingual triviaist, añejo is Spanish for “aged,” and refers to the fourth most aged of Mexico’s five official tequila aging designations, and peligroso simply means “dangerous.”)
