Twenty years ago, Knob Creek, a boutique label in the massive Beam Inc./Jim Beam family, more or less singlehandedly launched the small-batch, super-premium category with its Small Batch Bourbon—now, the new Knob Creek Small Batch Rye Whiskey joins the party. The rye challenge is tackled with a blend of rye whiskeys, aged up to nine years, then selected by the single barrel for bottling at 100-proof. “The rye grain is the complete focal point of this amazing whiskey,” says one happy source. Sounds…intoxicating! $35, rolling out to selected markets now, widely available in July.
