For the Essentialist, the Iguaneye Freshoe is an ultra-minimal sneaker, stripped down to the twin functional basics of any shoe: protection and traction. Inspiration comes from 500 years ago and the Amazon Indians, who dipped their feet in molten rubber to create a protective second skin. The fast forward delivers an advanced-formula rubber sheath: super-flexible, grippy, hard-wearing, hypoallergenic, 100% recyclable. Critical second-skin fit is achieved with an anatomic form by Dulster Design, footwear specialists whose collaboration credits include adidas, Puma, Montrail and Mountain Equipment Coop. Ventilating channels ensure constant airflow for a sheer, barefooted feeling. Comfort and cushioning are provided by a removable, leather-lined, cork-and-latex insert, incorporating micro-net technology for precise anatomical moulding. No more, no less. Due in early 2013, in many cool colours, for 49€ (about $61), with replacement inserts. Preordering now. Nice!
