When you absolutely, positively must stop conversation with your watch (or just fancy gazing at the machine on your wrist for minutes on end), the HYT H1 Hydro-Mechanical Watch will do the trick. The latest venture from watch world high flyer Vincent Perriard, the HYT H1 is the first timepiece to combine mechanical and liquid engineering: tiny pistons move bellows that pump glowing fluorescein liquid around the dial to mark the hours. The H1 is hand-wound, with a 65-hour power reserve. Engineering and fabrication are naturally top flight, from the 35-jewel movement, hand-chamfered bridges adorned with Côtes de Genève, and rhodiumed bellows, to the anti-glare sapphire crystal, front and back (below), down to the hand-sewn, leather-backed canvas strap. The case is titanium, with black DLC-coated titanium and 18K red gold case alternatives. Rumored to start at $45,000. Check out the video below…
