Glenfiddich Age of Discovery

Glenfiddich Age of Discovery

A new single malt from the world’s most popular Scotch distillery, Glenfiddich Age of Discovery is a premium whiskey with a couple of firsts to its credit, aged in American ex-bourbon barrels, then finished for the first time in ex-Madeira casks. Bottling at 19 years is also a first for the Big G. The name, as the box art illustrates, references Madeira via the 15th century Portuguese explorers who “discovered the world” (from the European point of view, at least!). “Delicious,” “fragrant,” and “done well” seem to sum up the critical take on this golden yellow offering, first bottled last year for specialty accounts, now widely available…to the world. £90 (about $140).
