Flat electronics—of course! The Flat Boombox by Hannes Harms keeps things mimimal, reducing material use and simplifying shipping, not to mention saving your own personal space, by using flat speaker technology in this boombox-speaker prototype. It’s fabricated by acid-etching a 0.5mm thin sheet of stainless steel, with scored lines for easy folding upon delivery. Not quite sure what beyond the speaker itself is enclosed in this skinny component—it has a Play button—but the concept is clear! Harms is a new-contender industrial designer from London’s Royal College of Art.
