The road to atonement for one old Mercedes’ fossil fuel-burning sins is 99,275 miles long, to be traveled by the CARMA Project Car Part Bicycle, a ride cannibalized almost entirely from the body of a junkyard Benz. The surgical reconstruction was done by Portugal’s Rcicla. The one-off is for sharing only, not for sale, which means you can help ride up the mileage, the same as for the original car, as part of the CARMA project to encourage discussion about urban mobility. It’s all the fine idea of ad agency Leo Burnett Lisbon and B-Bicycle Culture Magazine. If you can’t own it, ride it!
