
Expanding on the cool guy classic G9 jacket, the Baracuta 2013 Spring/Summer Blue Label Collection Preview highlights one of two upcoming extended lines, the Ivory and the Blue. This one features 10 styles of enduringly crafted outwear, including the G9, the G4, a trench coat, a three-quarter field jacket, and vests, designed by Japan’s Kenichi Kusano with inspiration from 18th and 19th century British military gear. It was given permission by the Fraser Clan chief to use the Fraser Tartan in the lining in 1938, gained status in pro golf circles, picked up the “Harrington” tag from the G9-wearing Rodney Harrington character, played by Ryan O’Neal, in the iconic soap, Peyton Place, in the 1960s, and acquired even more serious cool when seen on the backs of the likes of Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Steve McQueen.
