Floating on farmland: Santa María House by Etcheberrigaray + Matuschka, on fruit farmland in Santa María, Chile, is built on pilotis to raise it above the flood irrigation used for the surrounding fruit trees.

The single simple volume is divided in two, bedrooms on one side, social areas in a section with a variable height ceiling. The glazed northeast facade presents a unified view to the trees for all rooms. The closed southwest wall contains built in closets, master vanity, desk, buffet, kitchen and pantry, designed as a single unit. Photos by Marcelo Cáceres. Via ArchDaily.
