Skyline Home Theater System by Claesson Koivisto Rune

Swedish architect-designers Claesson Koivisto Rune have created a home theatre system concept for Korean manufacturer LG Electronics.

"The Skyline HTS is inspired by both our architecture and the phenomenon of the modern metropolis." says CKR.


"In our design, the different elements of the HTS - the main unit, the right and left speakers, and the subwoofer - vary in height and proportion in relation to each other."


"The visual language of gently angled planes framed within thin, box-shaped volumes is a recurring theme rooted in our own architectural practice."


"Additionally, the 'false perspective effect' seen on the front of each of the items affords a twist of subtlety to the primary forms."


"We have envisioned a group of highly-stylized 'buildings' with a particular aesthetic, rising up, to form a silhouette reminiscent of today's urban city-scapes. Hence, the name - Skyline."
