British colonial heritage meets now in Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia, in the Macalister Mansion Boutique Hotel by Dato Sean, Datin Karen & Colin Seah, named in honor of Sir Norman Macalister, one of the first British governors of Penang.

Eight rooms with individually commissioned art, casual and fine-dining restaurants, a cigar-and-whiskey Den, a bar, a pool, all the traditional creature comforts, with an eight-foot fiberglass fractal bust sculpture of Macalister in the drive, connecting the centuries.
